NCS June 20th Results

The total car count was down quite a bit but being family night and sponsor Crow Wing Power giving out free hot dogs the stands were the fullest I have ever seen them.  I guess people like free hot dogs!

Lou got a 3rd in his heat and finished 6th in the feature having not too bad a night even if there were not that many street stocks and his car was having some issues.

Travis got a 2nd in his heat and 6th in the feature having a pretty good night even with his steering being crap in the feature.

NCS Wednesday June 17th Results

Lou decided to let Travis race his street stock on this special Late Model night.  Travis finished 4th in his heat qualifying him for the feature.  In the feature his final position was 15th but it ended badly when someone spun out in front of him and he ran into him crushing the front end wrecking the radiator and a bunch of other stuff.   Lots of work to be done if Lou wanted to race in three days.

Lou took 4th in his heat and started inside pole for the feature.  Unfortunately in the feature he broke something in his rearend or transmission and had to be pushed off the track.

Travis also took a 4th in his heat and started 14th in the feature.  In the feature he was running good and had a couple mishaps but still managed to finish 12th.

NCS May 23rd Results

Travis finished 5th in his heat making him run the B-Feature.  He finished 4th in the B-Feature qualifying him for the main feature though he had to start dead last in 20th position.  In the feature he had worked up to around 9th spot with the car running about as good as it has all season and he got tangled up with the guy in front him sending him to the rear of the field.  He was able to work his way back up to a finish of 15th.

Lou did not end up getting the street stock completely fixed so he did not race.

NCS May 16th Results

Lou’s car once again didn’t handle to good in the heat and he finished 6th.  In the feature it started out a little better but then the steering sector came right off the frame fo the car ending his night finishing 15th.

Travis finished 3rd in his heat qualifying him for the feature.  In the feature he ran pretty decent and finished 8th for the second straight week.

NCS May 9th Results

Another cold and rainy night but we did get all the races in.  Lou was taken out on the first corner of the first lap by a young female driver.  He bent his upper control arm and a tie rod end.  We did end up getting some spare parts back on and the car on the track just in time for the feature but didn’t have time to really get it adjusted correctly.  It showed as the car did not handle at all and he ended up pulling off the track after a few laps finishing 14 out of 16.

Travis’s car was running pretty good all night even if he was having a bit of a traction problem.  He finished 3rd in his heat qualifying him for the feature.  In the feature he started 10th and ran well finishing 8th out of 20 cars.  We seem to be learning a little something every week and making the car better and better.

Hopefully next Saturday we can have a night with no rain and maybe even a little warmth.

Lou's Car 5-2-09 Travis's Car 5-2-09

Opening night at North Central Speedway and we had Lou and Travis’s car ready for racing.

Lou was up first and had some handling issues, in his own words, in handled like a cement truck. He also had a hole in his oil filter which we noticed after the heat race which resulted in a pool of oil under the car. We got the filter replaced and took some stagger out of the car hoping for some better handling. In the feature he did have a better handling car for only a little while before it went to hell but he did load it on the trailer in one piece.

There ended up being 6 heats of B-Mods which meant only the top 3 out of each race would go to the feature. Travis finished 4th and had to run the consilation. The consi was only taking the top 2 which he just finished outside of and did not make the feature. The good news is the car actually ran well and handled pretty good.
